In a recent turn of events, the router, phone, answering machine and television set got destroyed by lightning. John may have also been hit, no one is certain.
It seems that sitting infront of an open window, listening to the rain, with a leg stretched out toward the TV set was just asking for trouble. It was probably the brightest light J. has ever seen, and one of the singular loudest noises as well. Still some ringing in the ears several days later.
Why can't we tell if John got hit? Well, no burns for one. It is possibile to be hit by lightning and not have burns, but that is quite rare. John heals burns much quicker than most, so they may have faded away in the 12-15 or so hours from the strike to getting looked at. He was pretty dazed for over a day, and still can't seem to get warm, so at least if it was a near miss, it still seems to have done some damage in some systems. It's hard to say if the strike knocked him off the couch, or the sonic shock wave did.
After he got up off the floor, he noted the TV smoking slightly, and unplugged that right away. Going out to check, it seems the strike hit the cherry tree just outside the front window. Fun fun. Finally back on line, More later...

Not Dead, just feel like it....
Ok, it has been quite a while since I have updated our blog. A year and a half actually.
Over 18 months ago John managed to crush three disks in his back. That has pretty much put everything on the back burner. Some days are better than others. There have been many days (most actually) that are much like standing on an electric fence. We will try to do shows this year, including Mayfair and Derbyshire, but those are tentative. A lot of it will depend on how much John is able to walk. Which right now is about 25 minutes a day. This severly limits time in the shop, and the back orders take precidence to the upcoming shows... we are still trying to get all the back stock and repairs done at this time. Hopefully, it will be soon.
